The only other requirements for subscribing to the Hosting With Heart website and community are that you have well lit, clear photos of your property / properties – ideally including all entrances / exits and bathrooms and toilets – in your listing (professional photos are recommended but not mandatory).
Accepting direct bookings is encouraged, purely so you retain a higher percentage of the revenue your property generates, but is absolutely not a mandatory requirement for listing on the site.

Hosts managing more than 5 properties (ie: a tiny house management business or a site with 10 eco cabins etc) will need to contact us directly to discuss a suitable custom subscription.

In short, no. Given the fluctuating cost of living at the moment, we don’t want anyone to feel pressured to keep their membership active if they cannot afford to. However, if you’d like the most flexibility, you should consider signing up on a month-to-month basis so as to avoid the need to refund you should you decide to cancel for any reason.
For now, we’d recommend ensuring any special features your property offers are clearly outlined in your property description. We hope to introduce a separate field / area on each dedicated listing page for special features very soon, however.
At the moment while we build our membership, the search results are generated completely randomly.
Once we however reach a critical mass of 100 or more listings, we will start to index listings by the below criteria:
1. How many accessibility / sustainability criteria a listing includes (the higher the total number, the closer to the top they will appear).
2. Seniority date (the date the subscriber attached to a particular listing joined the site).
No, they are not mandatory, but they are highly recommended to ensure you get the most value out of your listing. If you don’t have professional shots, well-lit, clear, accurate shots of your property should be used at all times. No. But any subscription fees paid to date are strictly non-refundable.
Of course. You are still able to add links to your Airbnb, Stayz, Riparide and other OTA (Online Travel Agent) listings via your HWH listing, however as we want to try and put more $$$ back in the bank accounts of hardworking hosts, we emphasise the ‘Book Direct’ function on listings if a subscriber has one. It is not mandatory, however.
